“The Islamic Republic of Iran has been, in fact, among the very first countries to rise in defense of the Palestinian cause, and you are currently on the front lines in confronting the Zionist enemy,” the President of the National Assembly of Thailand Wan Muhamad Noor Matha said at the meeting with Ayatollah Javad Marvi, a member of the Supreme Council of Iranian Seminaries.

Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Javad Marvi, a member of the Supreme Council of Iranian Seminaries, along with his delegation, met with Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, the President of the Thai National Assembly, during a missionary trip to Thailand which took place at the invitation of Thai Shiites.

In this meeting, Ayatollah Marvi expressed his satisfaction with meeting the Muslim and scholarly President of Thailand’s National Assembly, as well as his deputies and advisors, noting that while official relations between Iran and Thailand date back 70 years, the two nations share a 400-year history of people-to-people relations.

“These ties began with the migration of Sheikh Ahmad Qomi from Iran to Thailand,” Ayatollah Marvi said, “This devoted figure, renowned for his ethics and trustworthiness among Thai rulers, was able to hold significant positions, including (but not limited to) the position of Grand vizier and Shaykh al-Islam, serving the Thai people and the religion of Islam.

A member of Qom Seminary Teachers' Society stated," "My presence and the accompanying delegation in Thailand was met with a unique welcome by the warm-hearted and ethical people of this country. Hereby I would like to express my deepest gratitude, on behalf of myself and my companions, to the Thai people, especially the Muslims."

"A brief look reveals the Thai government's support for its Muslim citizens and the granting of civil and religious freedoms for them to observe their religious ceremonies and rituals in society, as well as in mosques and Husayniyyas,” he continued.

Referring to the obligation of Muslims to support the Palestinian cause, Ayatollah Marvi added, "What is heartening is the support by Thai Muslims, both Shia and Sunni, for the oppressed people of Gaza in the face of the violator, brutish, and child-killing Zionist regime; The National Assembly of Thailand, especially its Muslim President and scholars, have played a significant role in such a support."

The member of Qom Seminary Teachers' Society also highlighted the efforts made by Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Sulayman Al-Hosseini and his colleagues in negotiating with Hamas for the release of Thai citizens who were captured during the conflict between Hamas and the Zionist regime, explaining, "The negotiations led by the Shia leader of Thailand and his colleagues, Hujjat al-Islam Al-Hosseini and Sayyed Mo’men Al-Hosseini, in consultation with Sunni elders and backed by the Speaker of Thailand's National Assembly, were successful, and all the captives returned to their families and nation safe and sound."

Concluding his remarks, Ayatollah Marvi extended an invitation to Wan Muhamad Noor Matha to visit Iran and the sacred seminary of Qom, which was accepted.

The President of Thailand's National Assembly, for his part, warmly welcomed the delegation to Thailand’s National Assembly and expressed his satisfaction with their presence, stating, "I extend my warm welcome to you and your delegation from Iran and the Seminary of Qom. I hope you have had a pleasant stay during this visit.”

Wan Muhamad Noor Matha said that the relations between the people of Iran and Thailand have a long history, and the Thai people will never forget your assistance with negotiating for the release of our citizens who were captured during the conflict between the Zionist regime and Hamas.

“The friends’ negotiating with Hamas was extremely valuable, especially since all the Thai captives were released safe and sound. None of the captives were Muslim; they were all Buddhists. What you did has changed the Thai people's perception of Muslims and was indeed a form of promotion for the noble religion of Islam,” he stressed.

Pres. of Thai National Assembly: To Express Gratitude to Iranian Nation, Officials, I will visit Iran

The Speaker of the Thai National Assembly went on to say that I would visit Iran to personally thank the officials who worked tirelessly for the release of our captives and to express my gratitude to the Iranian nation and government for their support of the oppressed Palestinian people.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has been, in fact, one of the very first countries to rise in defense of the Palestinian cause; you are currently on the front lines in confronting the Zionist enemy. I ask you to convey my greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran after you have returned."
